Never, ever thought I’d be a Mrs.

Now it’s for sure.  I am so HAPPY!  Shooting for May 22, 2010.  Small wedding, and I’ve got to let my bro know he’s gonna be giving me away. 

So cool.  Can’t wait.  I love my man.

Couldn’t log in last night for some reason…  but just wanted to let all my peeps know that my biopsy was NEGATIVE!!!! No lymphoma.  So.. I’ll be bugging everyone for decades to come.  WOOT!

So, tomorrow I go in for my biopsy.  This sucks.  Can’t sleep right now.

I am scared in so many ways that I can’t begin to imagine.  Fortunately, my love will be with me, as well as by best friend, Wathy, so I’ll be well taken care of.  I’m still scared, but blessed to have people who truly care about me.  Yay!

I’ll be in the hospital on Monday 10/05/09.  Please be praying against lymphoma.  Thank you.  I appreciate and love you all.

Sooo…

I’ve had this swollen lymph node in my neck that hasn’t gotten bigger, or smaller, for  a few months now.  I also have these crazy skin rashes that I have always gotten since puberty.

Now, *gulp*, I’m going in for a biopsy.  Worst case scenario is lymphoma.  Depending on if it’s early, I’m OK.  Definitely one of the most treatable cancers on the planet.

The only real problem is that I AM SCARED.  

This sucks.

Well, I haven’t been posting much since I’ve been busy busy busy with my career with Schwab and getting my home in order…

Well, things have slowed down a little bit and me and my love have realized that we probably don’t want to stay in Phoenix.  I don’t blame him; I’ve never felt comfy here. I’d love to go back to the SF Bay Area, and if continue my upward mobility @ CS & Co, Inc… this doesn’t sound like a far-fetched opportunity.  I could very easily fall back into my old haunts in terms of music.  The other place we are thinking of is Austin or San Antonio.  I could still stay with Schwab in Austin, I think.  I’d really like to go to Indianapolis, though… I miss the Midwest and so does my sweetie, who is from Michigan.  I don’t know how much longer we’ll last in Phoenix… I do like being near my brother, and we’ve really spent a lot of time together… but I am worried about the possibilities here.  Even though I grew up here, I’ve never felt at home.

A lot of people have asked me if I could ever go back to the rat-race of Los Angeles.  I simply don’t know.  There isn’t much of a living to be made there for me in the studio music business now; hell, that shit started leaving in the 80’s.  I did good enough since I had connections when I got there a few years back, but hey; when you’ve got major players stabbing you in the back for peanuts, it’s just not my scene and one of the biggest reasons I didn’t want to play that game in the first place.  Thhhhhffffpt.  ~  As Bart Simpson would say, eat my shorts.

So, now what?  Don’t know.  My career at Schwab is taking off.  I would say that it would be a good bet that I could move back to the SF Bay Area in the next year or two.  Still… I wouldn’t mind living in Austin or Indy.  It’s all possible.  Another possibility is Denver but my love doesn’t like it there…  well, he hasn’t been there in 20 years.  Maybe I can kidnap him for a weekend.  I love Denver.    Anyway, not much else new here except that we want to be somewhere else.  XOXO to all my peeps.

Well, I had a fab time with Mom and all our peeps!  A shout-out is needed to Rosemary McMasters and Emma Fong, both are Schwabbies!   I got up there totally wiped and this morning I woke up with a hellacious sinus infection.  After enjoying two virgin Bloody Marys with LOTS of tabasco, I submerged my ass (and the rest of me) in Oak Creek.  Yow!  That felt  GREAT!  Now I am home in Phoenix and it feels like Sasquatch has sat his ass down on my sinuses, bleah. 

So… I’m going to bed hoping that the Bigfoot will get off of my face so I can sleep.  Sheesh. 

I’ve been very lax about my blogging for awhile.  I suck. Well, not really.  My life has been too damn busy these past months to even draw a breath, let alone write about it.

So… let’s see.  What’s been going on in the life of the Melon?

I still love my job at Schwab.  My colleagues are DA BOMB.  LOVE my peeps!  I’m also trying to get a job for my fiancee there.  He’s got a job, but their “vision” is totally hosed.  NEXT! 

Me and my sweet just got back from a well-deserved vacay in San Francisco.  Loved it.  We had fun.  I was especially happy to finally see Wicked, the show I worked through and opened before it went to NYC.  Nice to know what those thumping noises were when I was in the orchestra pit, hahahaha.  Awesome show!!!!  If you wanna see me in the “making of” Wicked… go here.

We also visited another of my fave haunts, the City Lights Bookstore.   I could spend my whole life in here… as well as the bar next door(especially since they have Guinness on tap, LOL).

Of course, we both ate as much as possible.  I took sweetie Steve to the Tadich Grill.   Yum yum yum.   We went there after getting off the BART – and doing a stop at The Palace Hotel  for drinks – so we could both use the bathrooms.  I forgot about the lack of places to pee in this town.  Ha!   The coolest thing in the bar was the print of Maxfield Parrish’s The Pied Piper.   Awesome.  That was worth stumbling into the bar.  Hee!

Other than that… not much else going on.  I’m going up to Sedona for a “girl’s weekend” with my Mom on Saturday -Sunday.  That should be fun.  Maybe we’ll get our auras analyzed.  Ha!

So, I’ve  been a baaaaaad blogger for awhile.  Life gets in the way, FEH.

Things have been pretty cool around here.  The love of my life and myself… well, we’re living together and trying to make things work in “these trying economic times.”   Meh.

It’s so cool, though… about two months ago, we got to get away from it all in Sedona for 4 days.   Last week, we went to San Francisco (and several of my old haunts) for another 4 days.  AWESOME!  I finally got to see Wicked.  I opened this show in 2004 before it got to Broadway, and it is nice to know what those loud thumping noises were on the stage over my head before, hahaha.  I LOVED the show.  Totally cool!  Plus, I got to see my good pal, Glen Swarts, knock down the house with his awesome playing.  He is DA MAN.  Plus we recorded the soundtrack for the show and the “making of” DVD of  Wicked back in the day.  Love it!

I’m going to try to blog more, but my life is pretty boring.  Keep in touch,  my peeps.  OAO.

Me and my man are heading to my old haunts in the SF Bay Area on Friday through Monday, which will be AWESOME I’m sure. Much easier to be a tourist in this town rather than a resident. Oop ack!! Did I ever mention, BTW, how much I hate Windows Vista? They are totally evil. Assholes.
