Hello, my blog peeps.  I just finished my first week at Schwab.  It is so awesome there; a totally different culture that actually REWARDS people for being innovative and smart!  Wow.  I work with a lot of people who are just like me… consummate over-achievers all.  I feel much more at home there after one week than I have in nearly 3 years with the State of AZ.  I liked a lot of my co-workers with the State, don’t get me wrong…  it was the environment that stifled the hell out of me. 

The pace is incredibly fast.  I love it.  I’ve not been online much because I’m studying every night as well as keeping up the yoga practice and music.  Whew!  Plus my personal life is just peachy, thank you very much.  Happy happy happy! 

I’m also looking to start my formal yoga certification in January.  I want to help other people discover how they can heal themselves with yoga as I have done.  It’s a bunch of $$$, but I really want to do it.  I’ll find a way.

Hello my blog peeps! :D

Well, my persistence paid off… I will start my new job with Charles Schwab & Co., Inc. on Monday, August 18.  Yay!  I’ve been trying to get in there for over a year.  I will be working with Schwab Institutional.  I’ll be making more money, there are bonuses, and the opportunities for promotion are great.  Best of all, I won’t be working for the State anymore!  Double-yay!  So happy!  Happy happy happy!

Sorry I’ve been an absentee blogger lately, but I really had to spend some serious time making sure that I nailed this f*cker to the wall.  I’ve been so burnt out by this State job that I smell smoke.  Plus it makes my brain mushy.  No more!  Jajajajaja!

Well, I’ve threatened to talk about my ghosties a while back while commenting on this post.  Today is the day to begin.  It’s a pretty daunting thing to put out there.

But first, here is a funny. Heh.

So, I will begin at the beginning. 

I believe in ghosts, and not as a scary woo-woo thing.  When people die, I strongly believe that their  energy - some would call it a soul - leaves their body either through the top of their head or through the soles of their feet.  I’ve seen this happen a few times.  Sometimes it doesn’t know where to go, so it hangs out for awhile.  Personally, I’ve also had energy go through me when someone has passed.  A good friend also has had this happen.  It’s kind of like a wind.  The strange thing is that I can actually smell and taste that person’s essence as they move through me.

I can also “see” and feel energy manifest itself in a number of ways.  I don’t really communicate with these energies in a verbal sense, so I am by no means any kind of medium.  I’m just extremely sensitive. Good energy I can see, and sometimes if it is connected with a person, especially one that has passed, it will manifest in a human form.  If it is bad energy, or connected with someone who died in a nasty way…  I cannot see that manifest in any human form.  The air just changes - it shimmers like a mirage - and I can see physical manifestations of the actions that are perpetuated by this energy… for example, footprints, movement of items, shadows of things that aren’t physically there, etc.  Kind of hard to explain, but that’s it in a nutshell. 

I’ve had this in my life ever since I can remember.  I’ve never really admitted it to anyone since, well, how do you explain that?  I’ve also struggled with admitting it to myself since I am a pretty scientific person.  It’s hard to wrap my brain around the whole thing. Between the Asperger’s and my general kookiness, well, it’s a potent mix and I’ve already got a pretty strong personality without adding the woo-woo stuff to the mix.

The only time I haven’t experienced this was when I was regularly medicated for Rheumatoid Arthritis.  I was on a LOT of immune-suppressant drugs as well as steroids and pain medication.  It totally shut me off from my woo-woo thing.  This was about the time I moved into my current residence.  Then I got off all of my meds and when the channels opened up again, it was incredible… but now I have a serious problem.  My house is inhabited by some freaky-deaky sh*t.

So now I am looking for a new home.  These things poke and pinch me all darn night and I usually cannot sleep unless I have a drink or two.  Even then, it’s still going on at a dull roar. I’d love to think this is all in my head, but the cats also pick up on when “they’re here” because they stare at the corner and yowl at where the energy will manifest.  They did this before, when my channels were closed, but I just thought that they were being weird. After all, these are cats we’re talking about!

Now you know how weird I really am. I’ve met others that are like me, so I’m not alone by any means. It’s yet another reason to do the yoga… it helps to turn it down a little bit… but it’s not managable like the monkey-mind - I have very little control over when they want to show up. I also have spent a lot of money smudging my house, etc since I started picking up on this stuff again months ago.

So, what happened here?

As far as I’ve been able to determine, there was a double homicide in my house during the early 30s.  It took a bit of research through old county law enforcement records as well as newspapers.  In addition, I am fairly close to the Pioneer and Military Memorial Park, where the bodies were moved several times to accomodate a growing city.  This may also explain the military sentry that “guards” the neighbor’s house.  I also strongly suspect that my home was part of the original 11 acres of the Memorial Park since I’m a mere two blocks away.  The energy that manifests in the house is definitely lost. 

It seems that I am right in Spook Central, as they’d say in Ghostbusters.

I’m baaaack!

Things are looking up a bit. My little pity-party last week didn’t last long. It started lifting during Thursday afternoon’s late lunch where we ate Chinese food and subsequently opened fortune cookies. Of course, we had to read ours out loud and add the obligatory “in bed” line to the end of every single one. This is what mine said:

You will be rewarded for your kindness to others (in bed).

Well, as you can imagine, that provoked a lot of laughter from my co-workers… and I am being amply rewarded at the moment, so I must be doing something right. 

On another note, I’ve learned that I’m being TRANSFERRED to a special assignment for my job. WTF??? I guess this falls under that “other duties as assigned” murky area that is in my job description. Huh. The only problem is that it’s about 8 miles from my house. Now, that doesn’t sound like a big deal, but since my current commute is less than a mile - and free, I might add - I am kind of pissed off about that. I usually hop on the free downtown shuttle, walk, or pogostick. I occasionally drive when I have to leave for yoga class directly after work, but for the most part, I want to save both the environment and my wallet. Whooo boy.

^This is going to happen to me when I start at the other location. I’m so used being able to get here in five minutes, now I’m going to have to get up even earlier, so I’m destined to leave sans pants at some point. I am NOT a morning person. EVER.

So, anyway… I get to do this because I am competent, I guess. Man, I really wish I could eff things up a whole lot more, then no one would make me do special assignments. What in the taco bell hell is going on, anyway? Someone pinch me, I think I’ve slipped off into a work-induced coma again.

… and now for my favorite fortune cookie saying of all time. It came from a fortune cookie I got in Oakland’s Chinatown. You don’t need to add the “in bed” line to this one.

Some times I am very upset with myself because I cannot read people. Or something. It is very, very frustrating and irritates everyone… myself the most.
